Battista Tourbillon Sapphire and Titanium

Designed in collaboration with Automobili Pininfarina, the Battista Tourbillon features a patented flying tourbillon movement with 10 days of power reverse in a revolutionary and complicated sandwich-style case with two box sapphire crystals on each side.

The Battista Tourbillon features exquisite detailing inspired by the design language and features of the hyper-GT itself. Every element of the timepiece’s design has been crafted to reflect Automobili Pininfarina’s PURA design philosophy, which uses elegant simplicity and lightness as its starting point.

Applying the design know-how and philosophy of Battista on such a small-scale object was an enormous challenge, though, requiring a completely different approach from both design teams, automotive and timepiece. Combining this different expertise from both sides, the timepiece incorporates fresh and groundbreaking ideas within a classically-oriented watchmaking structure coupled with extraordinary finishing.

The Battista Tourbillon incorporates design cues from the Automobili Pininfarina Battista Hyper GT, the fastest accelerating production car in the world. The asymmetrical dials feature the unique Automobili Pininfarina pattern and the signature of the founder of Pininfarina, Battista “Pinin” Pininfarina. The apertures showcasing the patented spherical rewinding system and the Grand Date are modeled after the “E-Heart” of the Battista Hyper GT, and the bridges on the back of the movement echo the shape of the car from above.

Working closely with Automobili Pininfarina, BOVET has created a timepiece that perfectly complements the Battista, with unrivaled craftsmanship and attention to detail. To commemorate this collaboration, the famous Pininfarina flags icon can be found on the power- reserve dial on the left, with the “F” for Pininfarina on the left and the Lotus Flower for BOVET on the right.
